Not a lot of people knew about this vehicle when it was for sale in the early 90’s – and thirty years later, many of those who knew have forgotten all about it. The first generation replaced the 117 Coupé and was also designed by Giorgetto Giugaro. Depending on the market, it was sold under different names. Japan got the Isuzu Piazza, Australia the Holden Piazza – but for unknown reasons, the American market version was called the Isuzu Impulse. I found this old press picture only and thought it is odd that the USDM model is pictured in front of Mount Fuji and a Shinkansen bullet train. They probably wanted to emphasize the vehicles origins. As I have always liked the shape and general quirkyness of this platform, I started a quick photoshop session. Subtle modifications suit the elegant design, and therefore I only changed a few details. It is lowered for a proper and sportier stance and rolls on Corvette C4 wheels. The c4 also donated rearview mirrors and door handles. Front and rear spoilers are enhanced and slighty larger.
