FIAT Tempra SW Shooting Brake

The FIAT Tempra SW is a largely forgotten perfectly sensible family car from the 1990s to haul kids and gear around town and go on occasional holiday trips. So what happens if you take away sensible and replace it with stylish? Converting the Tempra SW to a shooting brake configuration does not necessarily impede on interior space or carrying capacity. However, ingress and egress to and from the rear seats may be a tad more tedious. I removed the rear doors and made the front doors longer, which necessitates replacing the fronts with folding type seats. Thanks to the FIAT parts bin, this is easy to do and you just need to re-trim the seats with fabric or leather to match the existing interior. The car has been lowered over larger diameter wheels with low profile tires and I also relocated the side indicators and corrected the weird angle of the tailgate above the taillights to achieve a cohesive and more elegant design. To match the looks, the 2.0 liter drivetrain from a 1995/96 Brazilian FIAT Tempra Turbo may be installed for adequate propulsion.
